O a k $ is a recording artist hailing from Ontario, Canada who delivers distinct, fresh R&B music for the soul. His versatility is one of his biggest strengths as he is able to shift from Contemporary R&B and Indie R&B, to Dancehall and Hip-Hop.
O a k $ spent most of his early life in his birthplace of Lagos, Nigeria the home of Afrobeats and later relocating to Ontario. Here, he fell in love with Hip-Hop and R&B music from the likes of Chris Brown, T-Pain, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Lil Wayne, Akon, and many more.
O a k $ has always had a passion for music since a child, his father loved all kinds of music from R&B to Latin and had a plethora of different CDs in his music collection.
It wasn’t until late 2018, when O a k $ finally took his passion seriously and dropped his first track ‘Vices‘ with another local artist named pablo. The song surpassed 30,000 streams with no promo.
O a k $ went on to drop some more singles that saw a decent amount of success and ended up on multiple Spotify editorial playlists such as ‘New Music Friday‘ and ‘Just Vibing‘. Now in 2020, O a k $ is back with his most recent single ‘Smoke & Harmony‘, a slow sexy R&B/Dancehall vibe creating a sensual atmosphere through his voice as well as his lyrics.
His growth is evident with every release and his music continues to get better. There is undeniable potential within O a k $ as an artist, and it is only a matter of time until the world takes notice as well.
